作诗，往往超越常人的视力所及，用想象的眼睛看世界，可以置万山于几席，览千春于瞬息。
“黄河之水天上来，奔流到海不复回”，从河源直看到东海。
“瞿塘峡口曲江头，万里风烟接素秋”，从三峡直看到长安。
这首诗运用这种手法，一开头就展开一个壮阔的境界，同一般的送别诗只着眼于燕羽、杨枝，泪痕，酒盏是不相同的。

彼此离别的意味如何
同是为求官飘流在外的人，离乡背井，已有一重别绪，彼此在客居中话别，又多了一重别绪：其中真有无限凄恻。
开头两句调子高昂，属对精严，这两句韵味深沉，对偶不求工整，比较疏散。
这固然由于当时律诗还没有一套严格的规定，却也有其独到的妙处。
开头如千尺悬瀑，从云端奔泻而下，接着便落入深潭，潺潺流来，飞韵清远，形成了一个大的起伏、一个强的跌宕，使人感到矫夭变化，不可端睨。
海内存知己，天涯若比邻再接下去，第五六两句，境界又从狭小转为宏大，情调从凄恻转为豪迈。
“海内存知己，天涯若比邻”。
远离分不开真正的知己，只要同在四海之内，就是天涯地角也如同近在邻居一样，一秦一蜀又算得什么呢。
气象阔达，志趣高远，表现真正的友谊不受时间的限制和空间的阻隔，既是永恒的，也是无所不在的，所抒发的情感是乐观豁达的。
无为在歧路，儿女共沾巾结尾两句“无为在歧路，儿女共沾巾!”这两行诗贯通起来是一句话，意思是：在这即将分手的岔路口，不要同那小儿女一般挥泪告别啊!是对朋友的叮咛，也是自己情怀的吐露。
紧接前两句，于极高峻处忽然又落入舒缓，然后终止。
拿乐曲做比方；乐曲的结尾，有的于最激越处戛然而止，有的却要拖一个尾声。
这首诗是采用第二种手法结尾的。
欣赏古代诗歌，特别是象五律这样既严整又短小的诗歌，不光要吟味它的某些妙句，还要领悟它的章法，它的思路的顿挫、腾跃，变化和发展。
文似看山不喜平，诗也如此。
总述从文学史的角度欣赏这首诗，不难感到它有一股新鲜的气息。
初唐是我国古代一个强盛王朝的开端。
唐代诗歌在我国文学史上出现了高峰。
延续二百年左右的诗歌的大革新、大发展是以初唐为滥觞的。
王、杨、卢、骆等当时的诗坛健将是较早出现的开拓者。
首先，他们反对唐初那种从六朝承袭下来的浮艳的诗风。
杨炯说，王勃“尝以龙朔初岁，文场变体：争构纤微，竞为雕刻；糅之金玉龙凤，乱之朱紫青黄；影带以徇其功，假对以称其美。
骨气都尽，刚健不闻，思革其弊，用光志业。
”可见他是有意识地改革诗坛的弊病，提倡刚健的诗风的。
就拿王勃的这首诗来说，该诗一洗绮丽之习，质朴雄浑，横溢奔放，曾使那时的读者耳目一新。
这种诗风尔后就大大发展起来，成为盛唐诗坛的一种主导的风格。
其次，他们对新诗体的形成做出了自己的贡献。
以五言律诗为例，这种在唐代逐渐成熟和盛行起来的新诗体，在王勃等人的笔下已经开始尝试和形成了。
王勃的这首诗，就是二首相当成熟的五言律诗。
再读一读王、孟的五律，进而读一读李，杜的五律，就会发现这种新诗体在有唐一代的发展如大江奔流，一脉相承，而越往前去波澜越壮阔。
中心思想朋友即将上任，诗人劝慰他不要为远别而悲伤：虽然远隔天涯，但友谊不会因为距离的遥远而淡薄，他们的心是连在一起的。
虽为送别诗，但全诗却无伤感之情，诗人的胸襟开朗，语句豪放清新，委婉亲切，表现了友人间真挚深厚的友情。
赏析二首联“城阙辅三秦，风烟望五津”，首句写送别之地长安被辽阔的三秦地区所“辅”，突出了雄浑阔大的气势。
第二句点出友人“之任”的处所——风烟迷蒙的蜀地。
诗人巧用一个“望”字，将秦蜀二地联系起来，好似诗人站在三秦护卫下的长安，遥望千里之外的蜀地，这就暗寓了惜别的情意。
“望”字不仅拓宽了诗的意境，使读者的视野一下子铺开，而且在心理上拉近了两地的距离，使人到既然“五津”可望，那就不必为离别而忧伤。
这一开笔创造出雄浑壮阔的气象，使人有一种天空寥廓、意境高远的感受，为全诗锁定了豪壮的感情基调。
颔(hàn)联“与君离别意，同是宦游人”，诗人劝慰友人：我和你都是远离故土、宦游他乡的人，离别乃常事，何必悲伤呢
此次友人孤身前往蜀地，远走天涯，举目无亲，更觉惆怅，作者在这里用两人处境相同、感情一致来宽慰朋友，藉以减轻他的悲凉和孤独之感。
惜别之中显现诗人胸襟的阔大。
颈联“海内存知己，天涯若比邻”，把前面淡淡的伤离情绪一笔荡开。
诗人设想别后：只要我们声息相通，即使远隔天涯，也犹如近在咫尺。
这与一般的送别诗情调不同，含义极为深刻，既表现了诗人乐观宽广的胸襟和对友人的真挚情谊，也道出了诚挚的友谊可以超越时空界限的哲理，给人以莫大的安慰和鼓舞，因而成为脍炙人口的千古名句。
尾联“无为在歧路，儿女共沾巾”，慰勉友人不要像青年男女一样，为离别泪湿衣巾，而要心胸豁达，坦然面对。
足见情深意长，同时，全诗气氛变悲凉为豪放。
这首诗四联均紧扣“离别”起承转合，诗中的离情别意及友情，既得到了展现，又具有深刻的哲理、开阔的意境、高昂的格调，不愧为古代送别诗中的上品。
编辑本段作者简介王勃，（649或650～675或676）唐代诗人，字子安，著有“滕王阁序”。
绛州龙门（今山西河津）人。
王勃的祖父王通是隋末著名学者，号文中子。
父亲王福畤历任太常博士、雍州司功等职。
王勃与杨炯、卢照邻、骆宾王以诗文齐名，并称“王杨卢骆”，亦称“初唐四杰” 王勃像。
王勃才华早露，未成年即被司刑太常伯刘祥道赞为神童，向朝廷表荐，对策高第，授朝散郎。
乾封初（666）为沛王李贤征为王府侍读，两年后，因戏为《檄英王鸡》文，被高宗怒逐出府，随即出游巴蜀。
咸亨三年（672），补虢州参军，因擅杀官奴当诛，遇赦除名。
其父亦受累贬为交趾令。
上元二年（675）或三年（676），王勃南下探亲，渡海溺水，惊悸而死。
王勃的文学主张崇尚实用。
当时文坛盛行以上官仪为代表的诗风，“争构纤微，竞为雕刻”，“骨气都尽，刚健不闻”。
王勃“思革其弊，用光志业”杨炯《王勃集序》。
他创作“壮而不虚，刚而能润，雕而不碎，按而弥坚”的诗文，对转变风气起了很大作用。
王勃的诗今存80多首，赋和序、表、碑、颂等文，今存90多篇。
王勃的文集，较早的有20卷、30卷、27卷三种本子，皆不传。
现有明崇祯中张燮搜辑汇编的《王子安集》16卷；清同治甲戌蒋清翊著《王子安集笺注》，分为20卷。
此外，杨守敬《日本访书志》著录卷子本古钞《王子安文》1卷，并抄录其中逸文13篇（实为12篇，其中6篇残缺）。
罗振玉《永丰乡人杂著续编》又辑有《王子安集佚文》 1册，共24篇，即增杨氏所无者12篇，且补足杨氏所录 6篇残缺之文。
罗氏序文中还提及日本京都“富冈君（谦藏）别藏《王子安集》卷廿九及卷三十”。
按日本京都帝国大学部影印唐钞本第 1集有《王勃集残》2卷，注云“存第二十九至三十”，当即富冈所藏本。
