世界排名前70的最优美的英语单词根据对4万名海外投票者和英国文化协会在世界各地英语中心的学习者的调查显示，“母亲”(Mother)是英语当中最优美的单词。
此项调查为庆祝英国文化协会成立70周年而举办。
英国文化协会在华作为英国大使馆文化教育处开展工作。
为开展上述调查工作，英国文化协会征求了46个国家7000多名英语学习者对英语中最优美单词的意见。
此外，英国文化协会还通过自己的网站在网上征求了非英语国家的意见。
非英语国家中35000多人参加了投票，其中包括3500份来自中国的选票。

学会去欣赏它们，就像你看到一些写得好的古诗或者优美段落一样。
第二是理解，这个是针对句子的。
很多人都觉得不需要专门苦逼似的学语法，因为老外讲英语都是没什么语法的。
但是句子的结构分析你一定要会，也就是说你要搞得清楚一个句子里面那是主谓宾，那些是定状补。
这对你翻译句子很有用处，不然就算你学会了每一个单词，但是却未必会翻译句子。
（我班上一个同学就是这样的，而且这样很影响听力，理由同上）记单词的话，我觉得有三种比较好的方法。
第一是结合语境。
记单词的时候，最好能结合这个单词看一下简单的句子，句子不一定要背下来，但是一定要会分析这个句子，知道这个单词在句子中的意思和充当的成分。
第二是联想，这个在一开始的时候，需要你刻意的去做的。
比如在买衣服的时候，刻意的联想衣服怎么说怎么写，不会可以跟旁边的人讨论，实在不行记在脑子里回家之后立即去查。
这种往往会让你记忆深刻。
第三，分散记忆，一次不要急太多单词，十几个就行了，而且尽量选那些在外型上相差很大的单词，这样不容易搞混。
